I’m not in London, but if you cannot find a good gym, there are a lot of great books to show you how to get started as well as how to keep going. You might want to save up and invest in the books as well as some free weights. You can also get some good videos to help you out. I really like the Jeri Love ones for weights. She’s a great trainer. Hope that helps!

A gym is not needed. Unless your goal is to be a fitness competitor, or you are seeking the social aspects of a gym you can save money and time by doing a few exercises that develop, tone, and emphasize the female physique. Namely, Lunges, Free standing squats (w/ dumbbells if needed), Push-ups, Lateral Raises, and Upright Rows. These will define and enhance whatever dimensions of an “hourglass” that you may have. Add Crunches for a tight waist, and you never have to deal w/ the ridiculous gym crowd.
